First-run flows: goals and plan

Each feature has one job: get a brand-new user to value in their first session, not weeks later. For each one, here is the goal, where it stands today, the proposed target, and the order we suggest building in. Open any prototype and use the Today / New first-run toggle to compare.

Where to focus

  1. Flow 1 · hero AI Scribe. The one feature no competitor gives away free. Card position 1 on the dashboard. Start the engineering feasibility chat early (no deep link, sample render).
  2. Wave 1 · quick wins Billing, then Your Team, then Calendar. Lowest build, routing already unblocked or a narrow ask. Ship these first.
  3. Wave 2 · high impact Templates, then Clients. More design, bigger payoff. Templates also feeds AI Scribe and intake.
  4. Wave 3 · gated Workflows. Needs a template and a booking to exist first, so it follows Wave 2.
  5. Parked Inbox and Insurance. No fast first-session win, secondary track.
Now = verified week 1 rate (new signups who finished onboarding, core markets). Target = proposed lift, to ratify with the team. Week 1 means the user's first 7 days.

Baselines are verified week 1 rates from PostHog (new signups who completed onboarding, core English and Stripe markets). Targets are proposed lifts to ratify with the team, not yet committed. Billing and Online Booking carry instrumentation gaps (the old payments step over-counts; there is no real publish-booking event), noted in each spec. Full specs, the engineering questions, and Inbox sit in the vault under Onboarding-Dashboard / FTUE-Multi-Feature-Index.
